About the role
As a Lymphoedema Nurse, you will be responsible in overseeing a clinic 9am to 5pm 4 x days a week to provide comprehensive nursing care to patients with lymphoedema.
You will work closely with our multidisciplinary team to conduct assessments and develop personlised care plans, monitor patients progress, and work to provide holistic managment for your patients.
Key Responsibilities for Lymphoedema Registered Nurse
- Conduct assessments of patients with lymphoedema and develop personalised care plans.
- Provide specialist lymphoedema treatment, including manual lymphatic drainage, multi-layer bandaging, and skin care. - this training will be provided
- Educate patients and their families about lymphoedema management and self-care techniques.
- Monitor patient progress and adjust care plans as necessary.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure a coordinated approach to patient care.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records.
- Engage in ongoing research and professional development to stay current with advancements in lymphoedema treatment.
- Provide support and training to healthcare colleagues and volunteers on lymphoedema management.
- Adhere to all clinical guidelines, safety protocols, and regulatory requirements.
Salary and Contract for Lymphoedema Registered Nurse Position
Salary: £23,998 to 28,672 per year (£29,997 to £35,841 full time equivalent)
Contract: Permanent
Hours: Part-time, 9am-5pm - 4 x days a week.
Location: Basildon Hospice and Thurrock Hospice, with travel across South Essex as needed to meet the needs of the service and patients.
About you
Essential
- Registered Nurse (RN) with current NMC registration.
- Strong clinical assessment and care planning skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and within a multidisciplinary team.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development.
- Empathy and understanding towards patients' needs.
Desirable
- Experience working in a hospice or similar healthcare environment.
- Additional qualifications or training in palliative care
- Proven experience in managing lymphoedema patient
- Specialist qualification in lymphoedema management.

Working alongside other healthcare providers, our specialist services are available at the hospice, out in the community or in a person’s place of residence. Together, we fulfil people’s choices at the end of their life.
We are a charity and the services we provide are free. We rely on voluntary income from local people to deliver the care they deserve.
